Traidcraft - The Christian arm of the Fair Trade Foundation
Traidcraft brings you the best of fair trade, runs life-changing development projects and campaigns hard to bring about trade justice. At the heart of the relationship is the fair treatment of all workers and good working conditions.
The Fair Trade Foundation is an international movement, working with people in the most deprived and poverty stricken areas of the world.
It focuses on working with poor and marginalised farmers and producer groups helping them to develop their skills and business acumen, using education and promoting sustainable projects to tackle problems like overgrazing, soil depletion and drought.
Trades raises public awareness of injustice and exploitation, building public
support for change, putting pressure on governments or companies to revise
their policies and/or behaviours. This helps small producers to receive fair prices that cover the full
cost of production and a living wage.
With one simple choice you can get farmers a better deal, which means they can make their own decisions, control their futures and lead the dignified life everyone deserves.
Manchester Diocese fully supports Fair Trade, and at St. Margaret’s Church a Traidcraft stall is held on;
First Sunday of the month – 11.30 to 12.30pm
Third Tuesday of the month – 10am to 2.30pm
full catalogue of products (which include jewellery, crafts and clothing) is available.
